East Coast Asphalt was established in 2007 as a joint venture between the East London-based Independent Group and Much Asphalt, which is the majority shareholder.
Our East London plant can produce 150 tons per hour, while Mthatha produces 100 tph. East Coast Asphalt also offers on-site asphalt production through its 60 tph mobile plant.

Various classes of asphalt products are designed to client specifications and undergo rigorous testing in our laboratories at each branch. East Coast Asphalt also has access to specialist resources offered by Much Asphalt and Much Asphalt subsidiary Spray Pave.
As a business we mitigate the risk of costly product failures by recruiting suitably qualified staff in all departments, together with a continuous training and motivational programme. We also offer free training for client employees and SMMEs involved in placement of our products to ensure that the entire supply chain contributes to the sustainability of the solution.
